Word to Your Motherland mural is a large outdoor mural that has transformed a cement wall at a North Vancouver homeless shelter into a community showpiece that celebrates multiculturalism and explores the importance of respecting our cultural roots.
The Word to Your Motherland project was lead by Creativa International, a Vancouver based not-for-profit arts organization and artists from the Kalakari Collective in partnership with the City of North Vancouver. The project received support through the Community Public Art program overseen by the Arts Office. Other Kalakari Collective and the Lookout Emergency Aid Society, with support from the Arts Office, Neptune Shipping, and H.A.V.E. Culinary Training Society.
