- September 15, 2020 - The 6th Annual Culture Days Celebrations happen in cities and towns all across Canada on September 25, 26 & 27, 2015. In North Vancouver, the public can choose from 50+ FREE activities happening in six Community Hubs located in popular North Shore gathering places near community centres, libraries, arts and cultural venues, and on the North Vancouver waterfront.
- June 25, 2020 ‐ The City and District of North Vancouver have finalized the consolidation of the Office of Cultural Affairs and North Vancouver Recreation Commission into the new North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission (NVRC). The consolidation will bring together municipal cultural expertise under one organization, enhance arts and cultural programming and services in North Vancouver and achieve improvements and efficiencies in service delivery.
- March 19, 2021 – The Vancouver Biennale announces the City of North Vancouver as a host city for the 2014-2016 exhibition, transforming the historic Pipe Shop Building at the City's waterfront into a destination infused with great art.
- January 2014 - The 2013 Culture Days Top 10 communities have been announced and North Shore Culture Days has made the list! In the overall category, we rank #10 for the number of activities registered. And in the regional category we move up to the #6 spot. A big 'bravo' goes out to all of the arts and cultural groups in North and West Vancouver that participated in the 2013 North Shore Culture Days celebrations, and to all of the community members who came out and got creative!
- January 11, 2021 - The Province announced that it would be implementing a number of changes to the allocation of community gaming grants. In July 2011, Premier Christy Clark asked Skip Triplett to conduct an independent review of the Province’s Community Gaming Grant system. In response to Mr. Triplett's report on the review, which provides 16 options for consideration, the Province will reinstate funding eligibility for adult arts and sports organizations, environmental groups and animal welfare agencies.
- August 11, 2011, Vancouver - UBC Continuing Studies announces the launch of a new international centre focusing on cultural planning and development with a founding investment from 2010 Legacies Now and the Province of British Columbia. Cultural planning is a holistic approach to the identification and strategic development of creative and cultural resources to enhance livability and strengthen both community and economic development.
