Dialogue, input and collaboration with artists and cultural groups, community stakeholders and the general public is integral to the development of programs, services and policy. The Arts Office seeks out partnerships, opportunities, and initiatives that maximize municipal investment in arts and culture, and works to establish a visible and physical cultural presence throughout the District and City.
- Peer Assessment represents one of the Arts Office's most important core values. Peer assessment means that all grant recommendations are the result of an arms-length evaluation process; applications are reviewed by an independent, third-party group of experts, who then present their consensus recommendations to City and District Councils for ratification.
