Core Funding/Operating Support Grants currently support four leading arts organizations that partner with the municipalities to operate and program civic cultural facilities in the City of North Vancouver and the District of North Vancouver.
The Core Funding/Operating Support Grants program plays an important role in helping to develop and sustain a small group of key not-for-profit partners that provide the core infrastructure and stability that are necessary for a healthy arts community. These core funded organizations create, produce, display or disseminate artists' work, or provide significant services to support artists in the community. They are:
NORTH VANCOUVER COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL
The Arts Council was established in 1969; its mandate is to serve the local community, and to enable individual member artists and other arts organizations through a mix of cultural development work: information services, advocacy, promotion and arts programming. The Arts Council also manages and operates the Cityscape Community Art Gallery at 335 Lonsdale. www.nvartscouncil.ca
PRESENTATION HOUSE GALLERY

The BC Photography & Media Arts Society was established as a distinct society in 1996, since when the Gallery has gone on to establish itself as the largest public photography gallery in Canada, and the nation’s only public gallery with a focus on media arts. www.presentationhousegallery.org
PRESENTATION HOUSE THEATRE
The Presentation House Cultural Society was originally established in 1976 to operate the Presentation House Centre for the Visual & Performing Arts. In 1996 the BC Photography & Media Arts Society was established as a separate entity to program the gallery, and the Cultural Society’s mandate was refocused on the theatre and overall management of the Arts Centre.
The Theatre's mandate is to present a diverse mix of theatrical productions and to facilitate the development of all forms and stages of the performing arts, including: development of new or professional practice; support of work by Canadian artists; and mentorship for emerging talent. Presentation House Theatre serves the community by increasing access to the performing arts for local youth, First Nations and diverse audiences alongside more traditional theatre-going audiences. www.phtheatre.org
