Program: Audience and Market Development Travel Grants
Program description:
Audience and Market Development Travel Grants assist Canadian professional artists to develop their careers and reach new audiences and markets in Canada and internationally. Audience and Market Development is a cross-disciplinary program; it provides Travel Grants to promote knowledge and appreciation of Canadian arts and to give Canadian and foreign audiences ongoing access to professional Canadian artists and their works.
Program eligibility:
The Outreach Program provides travel assistance to the following applicants for the eligible projects outlined for each component: professional presenters (such as promoters, programmers and festival artistic directors); curators; artists’ representatives (such as managers, agents, tour directors, distributors, art dealers and gallery directors); artist-run centres, artists’ associations, arts organizations and presenting networks; professional Canadian performing artists officially selected to showcase at a key contact or market event. All Canada Council for the Arts programs are accessible to Aboriginal artists or arts organizations and artists or arts organizations from diverse cultural and regional communities of Canada. Program: Theatre International Program
Program description:
The Theatre International Program provides assistance for projects that reinforce artistic collaborations between Canadian and foreign professional theatre companies and enhance the creation and visibility opportunities for Canadian companies abroad. There are five components to this program: Development of Creation Collaborations, Translation, Co-productions, Touring Export and Touring Import.
Program eligibility:
Non-profit theatre companies, organizations, collectives and ad hoc groups that have received funding through the Theatre Production Project Grants program or Operating Grants program may apply on their own behalf or on behalf of their staff. This Canada Council for the Arts program is accessible to Aboriginal artists and arts organizations, as well as artists and arts organizations from diverse cultural and regional communities of Canada. For the Touring Import component, eligibility includes theatre presenters and festivals whose principal programming activities are defined within an artistic context and who have a track record of presenting theatre. Note: For individual artists, the Grants to Theatre Artists cover foreign travel and residencies.

Program: Marketing and Promotion for Non-FACTOR Supported Sound Recordings
Program description:
This program was developed to assist with the marketing and promotion of a sound recording. Funding is in the form of a loan and is available for non-FACTOR supported sound recording projects. Eligible expenses are only those for domestic marketing and promotion initiatives.
Program eligibility:
The performer must be a Canadian citizen or Landed Immigrant. The applicant must be the artist performer for those projects without FACTOR-recognized distribution. The applicant must own the copyright of the master recording for Canada. The application must be in support of a commercially released, professionally manufactured sound recording containing a bar code and catalogue number. Further eligibility requirements may apply.

Program: Marketing and Promotion for FACTOR Supported Sound Recordings
Program description:
This program was developed to provide a stronger financial commitment to each project by offering funding to assist with the marketing and promotion of a FACTOR supported sound recording.
Program eligibility:
The applicant must have received a sound recording loan from FACTOR. Applicants may apply after FACTOR's receipt of the completion paperwork but no later than six months of the release of the sound recording for the initial funding. Further eligibility requirements may apply.

Program description:
The Showcase Support Program's objective is to support Canadian artists at professional, music industry organized showcases with a strong potential for results and to contribute to the development of the Canadian music industry both domestically and internationally.

Performer's must be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant. Applicants must be Canadian artists, Canadian-owned or controlled record companies, management companies or music publishers. The showcase must take place within FACTOR's fiscal year. Further eligibility requirements may apply.

Program: Domestic and International Business Development
Program description:
The Domestic and International Business Development Program was developed to increase the competitive appeal of Canadian music products domestically and internationally. A strong domestic and international presence is essential to building a healthy Canadian independent recording industry. Funding is available for participation in domestic and international music industry conferences or trade fairs and assistance for domestic and international marketing.
Program eligibility:
The applicant must: be a Canadian-owned and operated record company, management company, music distributor or music publisher; have been in business two years prior to the date of receipt of the application; and be a registered or incorporated company. Further eligibility requirements may apply.

Program: Label, Manager and Distributor Business Development
Program description:
Funding is available for initiatives that will help strengthen the company, including memberships to relevant organizations, development of databases, subscriptions to trade publications, and initiatives that would support the marketing and promotion of the company (not artist specific). Also included would be website development, maintenance, discussion boards, software and hosting fees.

Program description:
The Direct Board Approval Program has been established for Canadian-owned and controlled record labels that have a proven track record. The purpose is to provide a strong financial commitment to each project by funding the sound recording, music DVD, and marketing & promotion. FACTOR may fund up to 50% of your Total Eligible Budget.

Program: Concert Music Promotion
Program description:
This program supports the distribution of recordings of music by Canadian classical music composers to broadcasters outside Canada in order to encourage radio performances. Support is available for promoting both physical CDs and digital sound files.
Program eligibility:
Any Canadian concert music recording entrepreneur (record companies, record producers or composers), with an acceptable distribution agreement, is eligible to apply for support. The final product must be a CD that is also distributed through other means (stores, mail order, etc.) in a quantity of at least 500. Further eligibility requirements may apply.
