The Don S. Williams Grant recognizes the artistic contributions and accomplishments of select North Shore artists who have demonstrated a maturity of talent in their chosen disciplines. This cash grant is intended to assist local artists with their continuing artistic endeavours and career development.
Visual artist Anne Gudrun has always been fascinated by how colours and shapes define the essence and personality of things. Her paintings reflect the beauty of nature with bold vibrancy and an innate sense of design. Anne has exhibited at the North Shore Culture Crawl, the Harmony Arts Festival, and the Centennial Theatre Gallery. She teaches painting and holds workshops for artists and non-artists on ‘Uncovering Your Soul’s Message’ using her unique process called ‘Soul Art’.
Singer-songwriter Adam Woodall is a veteran of the urban folk scene and a highly seasoned entertainer. With over ten years of live shows under his belt and a solid base of fans, Adam Woodall is touted as one of the North Shore’s most celebrated musicians. His latest independent release with the Adam Woodall Band, Silver Ring, honours the band’s rock, folk, and pop roots while exploring new musical territory.
Guests at this year’s FANS Tribute to the Arts event will have the opportunity to meet the FANS artistsincluding the 2012 Distinguished Artist Award winner - Canadian novelist, visual artist and designer Douglas Coupland. Musical performances by Adam Woodall, and rising young singing star Asha Diaz will round out the evening.
